Aquatic Therapy is a unique treatment allowing a wide range of exercise and other rehabilitative techniques. The water’s warmth, combined with the properties of buoyancy, resistance and hydrostatic pressure, allow for reduced pain, less pressure on joints, strength training and reduced swelling.
These benefits of the water may help provide an accelerated recovery for several orthopedic and neurological conditions including: joint pain due to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, tendon sprains and strains, chronic low back and neck pain, Sciatica, and Fibromyalgia. Other conditions treated in the pool include post-fracture healing, rotator cuff repair, joint replacement, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and other neuromuscular conditions.
Aquatic Therapy is offered to patients of all ages and is provided by specially trained physical, occupational and aquatic therapists in our therapeutic pool. This pool is uniquely designed for accessibility and comfort with a movable floor that can lower clients into the water. Patients may also enter and exit the pool using the steps with a handrail or on an automatic lift chair.
A physician’s referral is needed for aquatic therapy.
Medicare and major insurances are accepted.
After therapy, patients can elect individual maintenance or group programs.
