Since 1888, Saint Joseph’s Center has provided love and support to children and families in need. Experienced maternity staff provide counseling and support services based on the unique needs of each child and family.
Saint Joseph’s Center, in collaboration with the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), works to match children seeking adoption in Pennsylvania’s foster care system with families who are willing and able to provide loving, stable homes. As part of SWAN’s statewide network of adoption and permanency-focused services, Saint Joseph’s Center supports children in need of permanency and the families committed to welcoming them. Through a collaborative process, SWAN Adoption Caseworkers strive to facilitate permanency and prepare each child for a successful transition into their forever family.
Acknowledging the love and sacrifice of birth parents and prospective adoptive couples, Saint Joseph’s Center is grateful for its long-standing tradition of providing infant adoptions. Dedicated adoption caseworkers provide counseling and support to birth parents considering placing their baby for adoption. They also assist and guide prospective couples who wish to adopt, including preparing the home studies, supervision, legal documentation and proceedings.
Saint Joseph’s has been dedicated to preserving the life of the unborn child and the dignity of motherhood. Pregnant women and mothers with infants who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless, or living in unsafe conditions find a safe, welcoming environment and dedicated support through Saint Joseph’s Center’s Walsh Manor and Mother Infant.
Saint Joseph’s Center welcomes donations to support the Baby and Children’s Pantry as a free service to local communities, offering assistance with baby and children’s clothing, diapers, formula, and baby equipment to parents and family members caring for babies and children. A special program, called “New Blessing,” is a baby bundle of essential items needed for newborns and is offered to parents preparing for the birth of their child.
Information, compassionate care, and support are offered to women, including free and confidential pregnancy testing and counseling.
